Kiel is a true Floridian, born in Pensacola and raised in Bradenton from the age of four. He started out his veterinary career at the age of fifteen when he began working as a Kennel Technician at a animal clinic in Bradenton. After graduating Manatee High School in 2003, Kiel joined the U.S. Army where he was part of the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps for ten years. Kiel supported Military Veterinary Facilities around the world in places like Japan, Egypt, Israel and Cuba as well as around the United States. These facilities cared for Military Working Dogs and the pets of the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen who lived on the bases and in surrounding areas.

After being Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army in 2012, Kiel moved back to Bradenton in order to pursued his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration at the University of South Florida. While attending USF he honed his veterinary knowledge and skills working at Veterinary Emergency Hospitals in Bradenton and Sarasota and the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center's Veterinary Services.

After completing his degree at USF, Kiel became a Veterinary Hospital Manager, Veterinary Hospital Administrator, Veterinary Training Manager, and Director of Operations of a large non-profit veterinary practice. Kiel’s dream has always been to be a partner in a veterinary practice and when the opportunity arose to partner with Dr. Wilson and Dr. Nic, he was excited to build their dream, Sarasota Veterinary Services.

In his spare time, Kiel enjoys being a father to his daughter, Eden, and you can most often find them out on the water, enjoying the beautiful Florida weather. Kiel is a die-hard Alabama Football Fan as you can see from the decorations that will adorn his office. Kiel and his daughter live with their two dogs (Carl, and Nicky) and two cats (Squirt and Allie-Bama)
